The Azure App Platform services team builds Azure services that enable our customers’ cloud-native architectures and Generative Artificial Intelligence investments. These today include Azure App Configuration with new capabilities for experimentation, Azure Managed Grafana and Azure App Insights Profiler and Code optimizations. These services are broadly used by 1000s of customers and developers... and we are constantly evolving them to enable developers to build cloud-native application architectures and GenAI applications.
We are a tight-knit team of customer centric, data-informed product managers who continually learn the needs of different developers, build solutions that drive productivity for customers, and create products that are as delightful as they are valuable. And we work hand-in-hand with one of the most customer-focused engineering teams in the world.
We are looking for an experienced Principal Manager, Product Management, Azure App Platform, to direct a team that is focused on building services for cloud-native apps and development in the cloud. In addition to driving usage and growth of the existing services and partner program, the lead for this team will primarily be responsible for the strategy and execution plan for the next set of investments in this area which we believe is critical for Azure’s differentiation among developers in the cloud-native and GenAI app development space.

Responsibilities
• Identifying and analyzing key trends and opportunities in cloud-native and Generative Artificial Intelligence app development
• Defining new services through customer development focused on developers leveraging the cloud for their apps and dev workflows
• Growth hacking usage of existing services by improving acquisition and conversion
• Building new capabilities in existing services for new scenarios
• Managing product positioning, competitive differentiation and pricing
• Leads teams in defining the feature(s) or feature set and drives them to partner with Design teams to connect multiple design factors (e.g., visual design, user experience [UX], application programming interfaces [APIs], hardware design) to desired functionality and product vision.
• Leads and coaches teams to develop problem statements and form hypotheses of new feature(s)/feature areas (e.g., product, service) to address highly complex customer needs and/or market opportunities; identifies dependencies of other feature areas.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
• OR equivalent experience.
• 4+ years people management experience.
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
• OR equivalent experience.
• 6+ years people management experience.
• 6+ years in a cloud-native technology role
Product Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
