Customer Support & Shopify Admin Tasks (E-commerce Focus) - Contract to Hire

We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Virtual Assistant to help with customer support and Shopify store management for an e-commerce agency.

You’ll be supporting daily operations, communicating with clients, and assisting with backend admin tasks.

You must be organized, responsive, and experienced with Shopify.

Responsibilities:

Respond to customer inquiries via email, chat, and Shopify inbox

Manage order updates, refunds, cancellations, and customer escalations

Handle customer support calls when needed (using Google Meet)

Track customer support tickets and escalate complex issues when needed

Assist with Shopify backend tasks (product uploads, basic edits, discount creation, customer account management, etc.)

Update customer profiles and orders when necessary

Coordinate with our internal team to ensure client requests are handled promptly

Help with basic store content updates (titles, descriptions, metafields)

Monitor open orders, fulfillment, and delivery statuses

Light reporting on customer feedback and common support issues

Requirements:

Experience with Shopify (basic to intermediate backend use)

Strong written and verbal English communication skills (professional and friendly tone)

Comfortable speaking with customers over Google Meet when necessary

Experience in customer support (email, chat, and calls)

High attention to detail and ability to follow processes

Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks at once

Fast response time during working hours (you don’t need to be glued to the screen, but updates are expected)

Proactive — you suggest improvements, not just wait for instructions

Nice to Have (Bonus):

Experience working with e-commerce or Shopify agencies

Familiarity with tools like ClickUp, Slack, or Shopify admin messaging

Basic understanding of Shopify SEO, metafields, or apps (helpful but not required)

Work Details:

Part-time to start (10-20 hours/week), with potential to grow

Long-term preferred — we want someone who can be part of the team

Flexible hours, but some overlap with PST timezone preferred
