Senior Video Producer

As Senior Video Producer, you'll be responsible for creating short and long-form video content for a variety of video deliverables for The Guitar Center Company channels and platforms including websites, TV & digital broadcast, web, YouTube, and Social Media. Working in collaboration with creative and content department leads you will participate in concepting, planning, and shooting. You will be responsible for managing our other Video Producer and will work with video production freelance as needed based on the scope and format for a given video project.

Working with the Senior Manager of Content Production and designated Content Producer, you will be responsible for planning video capture at shoots. This will include creative considerations as well as technical considerations including cameras, lenses, lighting, and plotting camera movement/positions. While the role requires a greater emphasis on pre-production and shooting, editing work will be required.

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Senior Manager of Content Production to plan shoots based on outlines and direction provided by designated Content Producer and or Content Director
  • Take lead on all video pre-production and production considerations for shoots
  • Provide creative and technical input on how we approach video capture that follows our overall Brand and Content Strategy guidelines as well as the specific vision for each video project
  • Follow, help implement, and improve as necessary, our pre-production guidelines to ensure shoots are executed within the scope and against final delivery timelines
  • Operate cinema cameras, lighting, and grip equipment. Provides troubleshooting of video and lighting equipment; performs routine equipment maintenance; makes recommendations for equipment purchases. Transports and sets up lighting and grip equipment as required.
  • Creatively produces video content following the direction given in outline, shot list, shoot deck, or briefs and records and/or tapes audio and video segments edits raw video, designs digital video effects, and creates graphics as needed to create finished videos
  • Manage our video producer and crew of freelance video production when a shoot calls for additional resources
  • As needed and in partnership with our Senior Video Editor, video post-production tasks may include backing up media, reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, rough cuts, audio adjustment, color correction, and final editing and layoff using Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and other industry-standard software
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Creativity and a passion for cinematography, video editing, the role of sound and music in video, and composing videos that educate and inspire
  • Minimum of 6 year's experience in professional video production with a proven record of delivering high-quality polished video content
  • Advanced knowledge of professional production procedures, practices, techniques, and terminology
  • Advanced knowledge of professional video production equipment including building and operating cinema cameras, operating gimbals, extensive knowledge of lighting principles/techniques, file compression, graphics manipulation, and post-production equipment
  • Experienced and confident with the use of the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop)
  • Strong storytelling skills
  • Proficient editing techniques
  • Well-versed in using color grading & color grading software including DaVinci Resolve
  • Experience editing interviews, product detail, musical demonstrations & performances is a plus
  • Comfortable working in documentary, unscripted productions as well as following storyboard and script
  • Experience working on set and ability to lead a shoot working collaboratively with production to execute based on direction given by Content and Creative leads
  • Demonstratable range in shoot and editing in various levels of production from more polished and produced multi-cam 4K+ pieces as well as rough, single-camera work with lower quality footage
  • Ability to follow and craft storylines and communicate information in a captivating and enticing manner
  • An understanding of compelling composition and design
  • A keen eye for detail and a critical mind
  • Ability to work creatively with a great sense of urgency and efficiency
  • Able to take and implement creative direction and feedback effectively
  • Able to listen to others and to work well collaboratively as part of a team
  • A high level of self-motivation, commitment, and dedication
  • Ability to work under pressure with a high degree of organization and to deadlines
