As part of that mission, we're building a modern, intelligent content operation to support billions of transactions, global users, and AI-driven platforms.We're looking for a Senior Content Manager to lead our enterprise-wide product content operations. This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role within the Product Experience Group (PXG), reporting directly to the VP of PXG. You will work fully remote out of the US (#LI-Remote). What Your Responsibilities Will Be:


  • Analyze content performance data to identify trends, improve content strategies, and measure the effectiveness of content at Avalara.

  • Develop a reporting model for Avalara content development teams, providing a single view into content needs and performance.

  • Guide PXG's intelligent content strategy informing the development of UX writing, help documentation, product/feature guides, integration docs, and support content.

  • Set and track measurements for content governance and quality across the product ecosystem using Acrolinx, ensuring all content meets Avalara's editorial standards, terminology, and clarity benchmarks.

  • Be a enterprise program owner for structured content development within IXIASOFT CCMS, Oxygen Web Editor, and AI-enhanced workflows.

  • Partner with AI/ML, Engineering, and Product to integrate intelligent tagging, generative writing, semantic reasoning, and hybrid RAG models that support our next-gen knowledge systems.

  • Promote change management for content transformation plans, including automated tagging, code-to-content workflows, and integration of OpenAI-powered authoring capabilities.

  • Improve our customer-centric content philosophy, ensuring that every piece of content is clear, findable, and purpose-built to solve customer problems

What You'll Need to be Successful:

  • You have 7–10 years of experience in content leadership, strategy, or operations in B2B SaaS environments.

  • You have 5+ years of experience with SEO and content best practices, understanding search engine optimization, content user research, content strategies, and product content channels

  • You have program management skills

  • Knowledge of structured content development, XML authoring, and component-based information architecture.

  • Experience with enterprise content tools like IXIASOFT, Oxygen Web Author, Acrolinx, GitHub, and localization systems.

  • You have experience working with AI-integrated documentation workflows

  • Experience working with or adjacent to AI/ML teams, with an ability to translate technical requirements into content delivery strategy.

  • Power BI expertise in at least one Content Management System

The base pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws.
