Position:Title: Director of US Federal MarketingLocation: Home/Remote VirginiaRiverbed are seeking a strategic and dynamic Director of US Federal Marketing to lead and drive marketing initiatives across the U.S. Federal sector. This individual will be responsible for shaping and executing marketing strategies aimed at increasing visibility, engagement, and revenue within the U.S. Federal Government market. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in marketing to government agencies, a comprehensive understanding of federal procurement processes, experience of working closely with sales and technical teams, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. What you will do: * Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive federal marketing strategy to drive business growth within U.S. Government agencies, aligning with company goals and objectives.
- Oversee the creation and execution of marketing events and campaigns targeting key federal agencies, ensuring that all initiatives comply with federal procurement regulations and guidelines.
- Brand Positioning & Awareness:
- Build and maintain a strong brand presence within the U.S. Federal sector by leading thought leadership, content creation, and advocacy programs.
- Position the company as an industry leader in federal markets through digital and traditional channels, including events, webinars, and conferences.
- Demand Generation:
- Develop and oversee programs to generate leads, nurture federal prospects, and drive sales pipeline growth.
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure alignment of marketing and sales strategies, improving lead conversion rates and sales cycle efficiency.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, Sales leadership, Marketing, and Channel teams
- Ensure that the marketing strategy is designed to support and enhance long-term relationships with federal clients.
- Analysis:
- Leverage data and analytics to refine marketing strategies, assess campaign effectiveness, lead management and maintain the scorecard to report on key performance metrics to leadership.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with internal teams such as Sales, Product Marketing, Channel and broader marketing colleagues, to ensure cohesive messaging and approach across all federal-focused initiatives.
- Manage federal marketing budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing return on investment.
- Compliance & Regulatory Knowledge:
- Ensure all marketing activities comply with federal regulations.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest changes in federal marketing guidelines and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in marketing with a strong focus on U.S. Federal Government or public sector marketing.
- Proven experience developing and leading marketing strategies for large-scale federal projects or organizations.
- Strong background in demand generation, digital marketing, and brand development tailored to government clients.
- Skills:
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with senior executives and government stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with strong project management capabilities.
- Data-driven with proficiency in marketing analytics and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.).
- Expertise in managing marketing campaigns across multiple platforms (social media, email, paid media, etc.).
