Your expertise in software engineering, security, and ontology modeling will be crucial in architecting scalable and secure data ecosystems. This role requires a combination of hands-on technical expertise and a strong theoretical understanding of graph theory and data structures.ResponsibilitiesDatabase Engineering:
- Develop and maintain graph and vector data stores, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.
- Implement graph algorithms to model, query, and analyze complex relationships in large datasets.
- Design and manage graph schemas and ontologies to support dynamic and interconnected data systems.
Security and Compliance:
- Integrate secure coding practices and compliance standards into the development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure data integrity and protection against vulnerabilities.
Data Integration and Optimization:
- Develop APIs and data pipelines to interface graph systems with broader enterprise applications.
- Design and execute ETL pipelines tailored for graph data ingestion, seamlessly integrating structured and unstructured data.
- Enhance enterprise search capabilities with semantic search and graph-powered recommendations.
- Monitor and resolve performance bottlenecks in graph queries, vector embeddings, and data pipelines.
- Proactively identify and mitigate issues in database architecture and vector search systems.
Collaboration and Mentorship:
- Work closely with software engineers to optimize data workflows and improve query performance in graph-based applications.
- Mentor team members and foster collaboration across engineering teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Graph Database Proficiency: Experience with ArangoDB, Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, TigerGraph, or other graph technologies and query languages (e.g., Cypher, SPARQL, Gremlin).
- Experience with vector stores and graph theory for data modeling and analysis.
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, Java, Scala) for data pipeline development and API integrations.
- Solid understanding of data security principles, including encryption, secure authentication, and compliance standards.
- Experience in building ontologies, knowledge graphs, or semantic systems for domain-specific applications.
- Analytical skills to solve complex data problems with innovative, graph-based solutions.
- Familiarity with database security best practices, HIPAA compliance, encryption, and data access controls.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Java, or Ruby.
- Familiarity with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence techniques for graph analytics (e.g., graph embeddings, link prediction).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and distributed computing frameworks.
- Knowledge of real-time graph processing and visualization tools.
- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Amazon EMR).
- Expertise in graph analytics and visualization tools.

Staff Graph Data Engineer (Software Engineer)Salary Range: In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $112,000 - $150,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work, skills, certifications, and geographic location.Required Education: 5+ years of computer science, data science, or related experience with a focus on Graph Theory or Ontology with a Bachelor of Science degree OR Associate degree with 2 additional years beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree OR a High School Diploma with 4 additional years beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.Principal Graph Data Engineer (Software Engineer)Salary Range: In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $150,000 - $205,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work, skills, certifications, and geographic location.Required Education: 10+ years of computer science, data science, or related experience with a focus on Graph Theory or Ontology with a Bachelor of Science degree OR Associate degree with 2 additional years beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree OR a High School Diploma with 4 additional years beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.Clearance Requirement: This position requires the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance. To be eligible for a security clearance, US Citizenship is required, and an employee must agree to participate in a background screen and credit check. Eligibility for a TS/SCI Clearance will be assessed as part of the onboarding process or based on programmatic needs.Relocation: This position does not offer relocation.
