Research and data driven, Goldbelt Professional Services’ experts create solutions customized to the client’s needs.Summary:The Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome (MIS) Data Manager will provide data analytics and quality support and communicate trends as it relates to immunization. This is a hybrid/remote position with an expectation to occasionally work on-site in Atlanta, GA. Responsibilities:Essential Job Functions:
- Serve as a Database Manager for the multisystem inflammatory syndrome (MIS) national surveillance system:
- Validate and clean clinical data
- Formulate descriptive tables, applying epidemiological principles to interpret findings; Maintain open and consistent communication with NCIRD’s leadership team, internal response partners, and with deferral and state health department partners
- Develop written documentation, such as Standard Operating Procedures and/or analysis plans, to ensure project transition/continuation
- Merge, build and manage data pipelines in cloud technologies including but not limited to Palantir Foundry (i.e., DCIPHER/HHS Protect), PySpark, Microsoft Azure based products (i.e., Databricks, Data Factory, SQL Server), Desktop SAS, SAS Viya, Posit Cloud, Microsoft Power Platform, Amazon Web Service Technologies, performing checks for data quality and duplication, and preparing updates for the website and other reports
- Oversee processes in surveillance systems as related to clinical data reporting streams including data collection (REDCap), data integration, data augmentation, and quality control, as well as perform data analysis and provide statistics for the CDC data products including but not limited to the CDC Website, Data and Insights Instances (i.e., data.cdc.gov), Power BI, Tableau, R Studio and or Posit Cloud
- Write PySpark code in cloud technologies (i.e., Palantir Foundry) to build and improve automated data pipelines and create analytic datasets for research projects and automated surveillance related daily data summaries and reports using SAS
- If approved on the CDC Conference Approval Memo (CAMS), travel to and present scientific findings at the Council for State and Territorial Epidemiologists Conference, Summer, 2025 (exact date and location TBD)
- If requested, potential travel to participate in on-site meetings for team building and planning retreats
- Assist with data management for other surveillance platforms for COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses (including RSV):
- Data management, cleaning, and validation
- Create weekly data quality reports for sites
- Correspond with site PIs and CDC team members as needed on data quality issues
- Replicate and assist with analyses as needed
- Potential travel to participate in on-site meetings for team building and planning retreats as well as travel to Boston regarding the Overcoming COVID-19 Network
Qualifications:Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Expertise in programming languages in SAS/R/Python/PySpark
- Ability to work in REDCap, Palantir Foundry (DCIPHER), NNDSS/NNAD data, Databricks and Excel
- Expertise in data visualization software such as PowerBI or Tableau
- Knowledge of and experience working with clinical data
- Expertise in the use of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, PowerPoint and Outlook Mail)
- Ability to identify gaps in existing resources
- Ability to be flexible
- Interpersonal communication: telephone, email, and business etiquette
- Strong proofreading skill and attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree (MS) with 2-5 years of experience
- Work experience in managing databases, processing, and integrating datasets (preferably in a public health setting)
- Experience in cloud technologies including but not limited to Palantir Foundry (i.e., DCIPHER/HHS Protect), PySpark, Microsoft Azure based products (i.e., Databricks, Data Factory, SQL Server), Desktop SAS, SAS Viya, Posit Cloud, Microsoft Power Platform, Amazon Web Service Technologies, performing checks for data quality and duplication, and preparing updates for the website and other reports
- Experience in data architecture, system analysis, SQL, relational databases, distributed data
- Experience in descriptive analysis and writing reports on data quality
- Experience working with CDC staff at multiple organizational levels
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred candidate will have 7+ years of experience in similar or related field
