This leadership position offers the opportunity to shape and oversee a rigorous, client-focused investment strategy process serving institutional clients, including defined contribution and defined benefit retirement plans.Responsibilities of the Director of Investment Strategy will include:
- Develop and manage a consistent, best-in-class process for comprehensive investment oversight, including fund search/selection, due diligence, and ongoing monitoring.
- Provide investment advisory services primarily to defined contribution (DC) retirement plans, as well as defined benefit plans, corporate assets, and other institutional entities.
- Present market insights and investment strategies to clients through written reports and in-person/virtual presentations using internal and external resources.
- Oversee investment lineup tracking and reporting using Broadridge Fi360 and Orion platforms.
- Partner with the sales team to support new business acquisition through proposal development and participation in sales presentations.
- Collaborate with other investment professionals to ensure repeatable, defendable investment processes are implemented for all clients.
- Serve as a voting member of the Investment Committee, helping guide investment decisions and policy updates.
- Coordinate with account management teams to align investment deliverables with broader client service goals.
- Ensure alignment with each client's Investment Policy Statement (IPS), recommending updates as appropriate.
- Uphold all compliance standards as outlined in internal policies and the compliance manual.
- Lead the investment search and decision-making process for mutual fund offerings within the firm's proprietary fund program.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and investment innovations to maintain a cutting-edge advisory platform.
- Maintain all required licenses and pursue continuing education, seminars, and conferences to meet FINRA and state regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in institutional investment advisory services or private wealth management, with strong understanding of industry regulations and products.
- Active FINRA licenses: Series 7, Series 66 or 65, and SIE required.
- Interest in or pursuit of CAIA designation is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with both clients and internal stakeholders.
- Exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distill complex financial topics into clear, actionable guidance.
- Willingness to travel within New York State several times per month for client and internal meetings.
