Job description: Job SummaryUnder general supervision of the Infrastructure Engineering Manager, this position supports the ITS-Infrastructure Engineering group and their interface with other campus systems and services; provides AWS, Nutanix, VMWare and workstation platforms and associated services analysis, modification, maintenance, installation and design which supports internal ITS support staff and the user community on the use of these services. This position also maintains and supports assigned systems and services to ensure system availability, integrity and reliability.Working with the director and managers, the lead ensures service success and excellent customer service, prioritizes and assigns daily work and handles escalation and incident response. This position is eligible for remote work pursuant to and the CSU policy requiring that all work be performed within the State of California.Department Summary Information Technology Services (ITS) is a fast-moving team that is responsible for helping Cal Poly achieve academic excellence through developing and implementing learning, teaching, and administrative solutions which leverage technology that align with strategic goals and objectives. Our team of more than 170 professionals works in a DevOps environment to shape the technology landscape at Cal Poly.Key QualificationsDemonstrated ability to achieve established objectives by managing project timelines, coordinating resources and staff, and leading implementation efforts.Knowledge of enterprise level infrastructure and platform services such as monitoring, configuration management (e.g. MS SCCM, Ansible), and identity and access management (IAM).Proficiency in at least one cloud provider, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or IBM Cloud.Demonstrated ability with designing and deploying systems using CI/CD tools in a large-scale enterprise DevOps environment (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline).Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Azure Resource Manager (ARM)).Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience.


• Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for up to two years of the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Salary and BenefitsAnticipated Hiring Range: $98,000 - $115,000 Per YearClassification Range: $61,896 - $152,760 Per YearFactors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
