Job description: Note for Current UM EmployeesCurrent employees must apply internally via connectUPosition DescriptionThe Community First Research Center for Wellbeing and Creative Achievement (CREW) (https://olemiss.edu/crew/) in the Office for Research and Economic Development at the University of Mississippi (UM) is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to lead the development and implementation of a community based participatory research (CBPR) training program embedded in ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education - https://www.acgme.org/) accredited residency training programs located at North Mississippi Health Services (NMHS) (https://www.nmhs.net/medical-professionals-page/training-programs/). The goal of this work is collaboration is threefold: help to train the next generation of physicians in CBPR, serve the health-related research needs of the communities served by NMHS, and foster deeper partnerships between the NMHS and UM.Examples of Work Performed
  • Design and implement a community based participatory research training module for current medical residents and interns within the participating medical residency programs at North Mississippi Health Services.
  • Work with the faculty of the participating medical residency programs at North Mississippi Health Services to provide additional training to residents and interns on the interpretation and application of research findings to clinical care.
  • Co-create and work with medical residents and interns to execute 2 community engaged research projects.
  • Establish and cultivate relationships within health system and community partners.
  • Organize and host a yearly panel discussion comprised of community partners and leaders for medical residents and interns.
