Launch Manager

Objective of the Position: The CTM Launch Manager ensure the industrialization, production validation and ramp-up of a new product/process in the EPU to achieve a smooth ramp-up regarding line output, launch costs, timing, quality and qualification of operators with the objective to handover a robust process to EPU Manager at Gate 5

    Essential Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, that
  • Lead the cross-functional launch team in the plant as industrialization starts
  • Align task status regularly with Program Manager & Participate in regular Core Team Meetings
  • Prepare, coordinate and track timeline for launch
  • Check and coordinate component material required dates (MRDs) to support all product development and production builds
  • Ensure reliable implementation of operational standards
  • Ensure technical boundaries for changeover processes
  • Collect & Monitor launch budget, including actual spending and report status at monthly basis to Controlling and Plant Manager
  • Conduct production trials and assure delivery of PPAP samples and production ramp-up according to program schedule
  • Address risks and opportunities with the program team
  • Be part of EC team (CTM) as of Gate 3 until Gate 5 and manage all resulting Launch Management tasks
  • Identify improvement levers for EC profitability and contribute to EC solution design as of Gate 3 until Gate 5
  • Act cross-functionally in order to achieve optimized results in terms of time, quality, profitability and customer value―aligned with all CTMs.
  • Production trials, PPAP samples, launch volumes and launch budget are on time and within cost and quality requirements
  • Escalate conflicts when program objectives are at risk
  • Ensure implementation of operational standards
  • Ensure communication regarding skill requirements, training, required headcount, handling of new technologies etc. to the corresponding departments
  • Ensure alignment of all required functions to setup a successful launch – incl. plant management
  • Release production layout.
    Secondary Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, that
  • Conduct all business related activities for, and on the behalf of, Eberspaecher within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.
  • Provide support to, and compliance with, all local and corporate Eberspaecher Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and other HSE related requirements.
  • Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and follows all EETAM polices related to TS16949 and ISO 14001; looks for way to improve and promote quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirement Profile

    Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum 10 years Automotive Manufacturing experience
  • Minimum five years’ experience with new model launches
  • Working knowledge of APQP systems and processes
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in SAP.
    Technical Expertise
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts and operations, including calculations, percentages, etc.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos, and write correspondence.
  • Analytical- Synthesize complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Designs work flows and procedures.
  • Business Acumen- Understands business implications of decisions.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement of products for manufacturability.
  • Knowledge of engineering fundaments, mechanical systems, automotive systems, and exhaust systems.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations.
  • Project Management- Develops project plans; Coordinates projects; Communicates changes and progress; Completes projects on time and budget; Manages project team activities.
  • Strives to continuously improve expertise, knowledge and skills.
