Job Description:

The Remote Pharmacy Technician – Prior Authorization Call Center will handle incoming calls from members, providers, and other stakeholders, providing professional phone assistance throughout the prior authorization process. The role requires accurate documentation of approvals and denials while transferring all clinical inquiries to a pharmacist.

Schedule & Location:
• Fully remote – never onsite
• Assigned shifts vary between 7 AM – 8 PM CT
• Training schedule: 8 AM – 4:30 PM CT

Salary/Wage:
• $18 – $21 per hour (based on experience)

Duties:
• Answer inbound calls from members, providers, and other stakeholders regarding prior authorizations.
• Provide professional phone assistance using criteria-based prior authorization processes.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation of approvals and denials.
• Transfer all clinical questions and judgment calls to the pharmacist.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Required Qualifications: • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience in a high-volume call center (healthcare, social services, or similar industry). • At least 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician coordinating administrative support functions. • Advanced computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet utilization. • Excellent customer service skills (written and verbal) are a must. • Pharmacy Technician certification preferred but not required at a state or national level.

Physical Requirements: • Ability to work in a remote setting with reliable internet access. • Ability to sit for extended periods while handling high-volume calls.

Education:
• High school diploma or GED required (must be verifiable).
