Disney Consumer Products, Games and Publishing (CPGP) is the division of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products (DPEP) that brings stories and characters to life through innovative and engaging physical products and digital experiences across more than 100 categories, from toys and t-shirts, to apps, books and console games. The business is home to world-class teams of app and game creators, licensing and retail experts, a leading retail business (Disney store and shopDisney), artists and storytellers, and technologists who inspire imaginations around the world.

We’re looking for an Assistant Manager, Public Relations to support our Consumer Products, Games and Publishing business in Glendale, CA (currently WFH). The role supports Direct-to-Consumer Retail (DTCR) inclusive of shopDisney.com and Disney store and Global Product Creation (GPC).

The Assistant Manager, Public Relations will support the Manager, Communications in the development and implementation public relations plans, initiatives, product launches, influencer engagement and events (digital and in-person). Additionally, they will support segment wide retail-led campaigns and initiatives across strategic franchise groups including Disney Media, Classics & Entertainment, Disney Animation, Pixar and Princess, Lucasfilm, Marvel, National Geographic and 20th Century.

Responsibilities: • Support team of PR managers with executing broad range of Communications and PR campaigns comprised of product launches, social influencer engagement, special events, brand campaigns, corporate and trade initiatives, and seasonal retail campaigns including Halloween and Holiday • Coordinate, execute and support key campaign elements including strategy, plans, research, drafting press materials, media list development, influencer list development, editorial calendar development, product ordering and product seeding • Execute campaign tracking and analysis, including press coverage reports and campaign recaps • Support with media relations: staff media events, draft media pitches, fact sheets, photo galleries, pitch and follow up with media to secure press coverage, maintain ongoing relationships with media and influencers • Work closely with other teams including Stores Marketing Team, Events Team, Creative Services, Public Affairs, Finance, Social etc. • Provide ongoing support and maintenance of online press room when needed – publish press releases, images and other assets • Coordinate photo shoots, press samples and other materials as needed with cross-functional teams • Provide department support with special projects as assigned. • Work cross-functionally across DPEP to maximize opportunities for DTCR and identify efficiencies and best practices for collaboration

Basic Qualifications: • Candidates must have at least 2-4 years of hands-on PR/Communications experience • Strong communications and writing skills, be prepared to provide writing samples • Excellent computer literacy; Internet and social media savvy with experience using Cision, Muckrack, Microsoft Office suite, Keynote etc. • Must possess a positive/can-do attitude and be able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment • Must be a self-starter, team player with a genuine enthusiasm for news media, public relations, social platforms and communications • Must be comfortable interacting with executives, journalists and talent, speaking up in meetings and brainstorms, etc.

Preferred Qualifications: • Agency experience preferred, consumer and lifestyle experience a plus
